how to care for your suits
Nothing pairs better with a Suena suit than a long day under the sun. But to keep your favorite suits looking brand-new and buttery-soft, a little post-beach TLC goes a long way.
Here is our go-to ritual for preserving your swimwear so it stays in your rotation for years to come.
rinse & wash after every wear
Ocean salt, pool chlorine, SPF, and natural body oils gradually break down delicate swim fibers.
Rinse your suit under cool, fresh water as soon as you take it off. Use a mild, clear detergent free from dyes, parabens, or harsh additives. Gentle baby shampoo works beautifully.
The washing machine is the fastest way to ruin fine elasticity and stretch out your straps. Hand washing takes two minutes and keeps the fit tailored and snug.
- Fill a sink with cool water, add a drop of gentle soap, and submerge your suit. Softly swish the fabric around, let it soak for 10 minutes, then rinse clean with cool water.
- Got a sunscreen mark? Apply a drop of mild soap directly to the spot while dry, gently work it in with your fingertips, let it sit for five minutes, and then hand wash as usual. Never use bleach or stain removers.
skip the dryer
Wringing your suit like a towel snaps the hidden elastic fibers, leading to loose tops and saggy bottoms. Instead, gently press the excess water out between your palms, or roll your suit up inside a clean, dry towel and press lightly.
Direct sunlight and high heat are the ultimate enemies of vibrant color and stretch. Lie your suit in the shade to dry.
- Never put your swimsuits in the dryer or use an iron. Heat degrades spandex almost instantly.
- Hanging a soaking-wet bikini pulls the fabric downward and misshapes the silhouette.
We design every piece to be loved, lived in, and held onto for years. Treat them with a little care, and theyโll stay ready for every dip.
